MoM Strides


Our first MoM Strides was held on March 18. My Stroller Strides group teamed up with Christy Schacte, owner of the MoM Spa, and created this free walking group, aptly called MoM Strides. It is so nice to just get out and walk and talk and just enjoy the spring in the lowcountry. Working out is fun, but hanging out is fun too.
Our goal was to get a group of women together to walk or jog the Cooper River Bridge monthly as well as participate as a team in local races. We wanted to help women and mothers focus on their own health and fitness as well as be a good role model of health for their children.
We had a great group of about 20 moms for the first walk. Some were Stroller Striders, some were from the MoM Spa and some were friends of those women. Some had strollers, some didn't. Some were runners and some were walkers. It doesn't matter what your age or speed, this is a group to enjoy the company of other women and to support each other in leading lives of health and fitness. I am looking forward to our next monthly bridge walk!
